Written to Harry Harris of The Philadelphia Inquirer supplying him with a list of what he believes is the ultimate dream show consisting of Philadelphia talent in part: ".It would not be a question of nominating ten people or 'acts' that might make up a well-balanced 'dream show' but rather which network would be able to give us the time to show all of the talents from Philly. However this would be my choice: Bill Cosby as host; Guy Marks - Impressions; Eddie Fisher - doing his Jolson medley; Buddy Greco Frankie Avalon Bobby Rydell Fabian and Al Martino as a group doing 'That Old Gang of Mine'; Susan Barrett singing 'Going Out of my Head'.I would have Mickey Callan dance surrounded by all the broads who ever worked the Latin Casino.I was sorry to see that in your nominations I was not included with the jazz greats as a Jazz Mandolinist or with the concert group as Second Mandolinist or with the string bands as Jewish Mandolinist. However I forgive you for this oversight." He proposed to Leite Lopes that they investigate whether the pseudoscalar meson theory would give some results in the description of the deuteron which could be experimentally checked in spite of the difficulty of the 1/r3 singularity at the origin of the Yukawa potential. The results of this study were published in an article entitled 'On the pseudoscalar meson theory of the deuteron' in the proceedings of the Symposium on New Research Techniques in Physics 15-29 June 1952. Many physicists from Europe and the United States attended this symposium." Mehra. Among the contributors to this publication are Eugene Paul Wigner 1902-1995 with three papers among the total of 67. 189186934London: Ward Lock and Co 1891. 1st Edition in English. Hardcover. Fair. frontis portrait illustrations index xviii 1 597p. Original reddish pictorial cloth. Rebacked with most of original worn backstrip mounted. 22cm. Covers faded worn and scuffed. Contents sound although lacking the folding map. Translated from the original German by H. W. Dulcken. A worn and mapless copy of a scarce work. Peters was a bit of an adventurer. It seems unclear whether his actions during this expedition were sanctioned by Germany. At any rate Germany and Great Britain concluded the second Anglo-German Agreement on July 1 1890 under which any claims to East African territory secured by Peters for Germany were casually abandoned by the Germans. Peters was later sent to Africa as a German colonial official but highhanded mistreatment of Africans led to his dismissal and forfeiture of his pension rights. Undaunted Peters moved to England and continued as an adventurer and promoter.

Ward, Lock, and Co hardcover books
