Charles Williston McAlpin graduated from Princeton University in 1888 and was secretary of Princeton University from 1901 to 1914 and served as Chairman of the Council of the Friends of Princeton University Libraries. He was a member of the board of managers of the Presbyterian Hospital of New York and a friend of President Woodrow Wilson.
