Minor shelf/edge wear to red cloth covers with gilt titles - corners sharp. Major shelf/edge wear moderate chipping soiling and tape repairs to original DJ - now in mylar. Date of 8-30-43 on FFEP. All pages are clean and crisp with the exception of page 686 and 687 which are are toned from a news clipping laid in. The clipping is about the timeline of WW2 from 1939 to Aug of 1943 and is still in the book. The blueprint of the Third Reich which was born out of the failed and draconian Versailles Peace Treaty of WW1. The editors of the book at the time called it " the most important political tract of our time. Sold as a historical document only and not as a promotion of hatred or violence. 1945199841945. WWII Official 1945 U.S. army map of the Obersalzberg nazi compound. Measures 8" x 11.75". These maps were published and distributed by the U.S. army prior to American occupation so soldiers could navigate the territory hence the inaccuracies of the layout as they were not yet on the ground. The buildings include Berghof or Hitler's house SS barracks Bormann and Goring's house the directions toward Mount Kehlstein where the infamous "Eagle's Nest" still resides and much more. Today mostly ruins remain as many of these buildings were severely damaged in a Royal Air Force bombing attack on 25 April 1945 five days before Hitler's death. With it's slow conversion into nazi territory starting in 1928 the Obersalzberg was a vast compound tucked away in the mountains of Berchtesgaden for Adolf Hitler and high ranking SS officers to retreat host events and meet with officials. Many historical events took place at the Obersalzberg with visitations from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor Prime Minister of Austria Neville Chamberlain and Benito Mussolini just to name a few. It was here when Hitler drafted instructions to occupy Poland in 1939 and gave his infamous "Ghengis Khan speech" officially announcing the invasion. A meeting in which Himmler attended in 1943 was held in which the decision to turn ghettos into concentration camps was made. The Obersalzberg was often spared from Allied raids until the end of the war where this piece may have contributed to it's final stand. Typical fold creases as this was likely in a soldier's pocket as well as clipped top corners where it was likely pinned one light stain at the bottom left wear to edges and a tear to the bottom right. Wear does not detract from imagery overall very good condition. unknown

1st postwar Yiddish edition (issued the same year in Lodz) of Ber Mark's centrally important work on the Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943, published originally in Russian in 1944. Original multicolor illustrated boards, 12mo, [207] pages. Title translates into English as, The Uprising of the Warsaw Ghetto. Issued under Soviet auspices, it was written by a participant, the Polish historian, journalist and anti-Fascist activist, Bernard Mark (1908-1966) . Mark narrates the events immediately preceding and during the 1943 armed uprising of Warsaw's Jews, and presents Jewish, Polish, and German documents pertaining to the Warsaw and other ghetto and camp rebellions. Reproduction of eight ink drawings by Alfred Mazure on the subject of the Hongerwinter of 1944-1945, when thousands of Dutch civilians starved to death. Mazure, a comic book artist of the period, whose work was banned owing to his refusal to make nazi cartoons, worked in the soup kitchens during the Hunger Winter period; he drew these ink sketches at the time.
