Evocation des campagnes victorieuses de Napoléon et de son œuvre législative jusqu'au « Retour de l'Empereur ». Blanvillain fut principal au collège de Pontoise. Il était traducteur de latin et d'italien. On lui doit également un « Pariseum ou tableau de Paris ». Robert de Billy était non seulement un grand bibliophile mais surtout l'un des meilleurs amis de Marcel Proust. En tant qu'ambassadeur de France au Japon, il a favorisé les échanges artistiques franco-japonaise et contribué à faire connaître Fujita. Joseph François de Kergariou, né à Lannion en 1779 et mort à Saint-Quay Portrieux, fut non seulement un grand collectionneur mais également, comme de Lavillemarqué, un pionnier dans la collecte et la conservation des chants populaires bretons. Rallié à Napoléon, il est nommé Chambellan en 1808 puis Préfet du Havre en 1811 et décoré de la Légion d'honneur.

Dust jacket shows the slightest signs of shelf wear only, no tears and is wrapped in archival clear cover.
