A bit of light scattered foxing but quite clean internally. A very good copy in unsophisticated condition. Solomon Williams was a pastor at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon Connecticut and father of William Williams Connecticut delegate to the Continental Congress and signer of the Declaration of Independence. He published many works in his lifetime including the present volume which argues that salvation is possible not through works but only through faith and conscience. EVANS 5521. ESTC W37757. A study and apparent partial printing of the Bible with most text in Latin although Hebrew text is found throughout. This includes a philological study accents and accentuation in Hebrew books of the Bible and other commentary see entry #58 in Bibliotheca Sussexiana by Augustus Frederick where the author questions whether this should have been included in his list. Georg Christoph Dachsel was a German theologist and Hebraist or scholar of Hebrew McClintock and Strong Biblical Cyclopedia. GOOD condition ex-theological institution library. Spine label interior bookplates and minor library treatments present. Leather split along the entire length of the hinges with some flaking and loss. Quelques-unes sont devenues fort rares ; toutes se distinguent par le bon goût , la correction, la beauté de l’impression... C’est notre meilleur typographe.” écrit M. Clément-Janin dans Les Imprimeurs et les Libraires dans la Côte-d’Or. Il s’agit d’une des toutes dernières impressions de ce grand typographe dijonnais puisque c’est en 1795 qu’il se retire définitivement dans son château de Vantoux qu’il avait acheté un an auparavant. Bel exemplaire sur papier vélin avec les figures en état définitif. Il est d’une parfaite fraîcheur.
