Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original manuscript autograph letter signed 'Ortaç' by Yusuf Ziya Ortaç to an unknown friend of him. 2 p. Full. In Ottoman script. 'Akbaba' satiric magazine's letterhead with its address in its period, Klodfarer (Claude Farer) Street, Istanbul. It's written with an interesting satiric style of Ortaç and it mentions 50's Turkey. It starts as 'Aziz kardesim, dostum, efendim'. He told that he received his friend's letter and upon this he wrote 'after I've read your letter, I felt like I've seen and heard you, it was like a "fondness feast!'". And he mentions 'Turkish nation' by criticizing as 'This nation knows only just forgiveness! They forgive superabundant; they forget fabrics, chimneys; but never forget some things!'. A rare and very collectible autograph.

Un texto de notable interés histórico, desarrollado en forma de un gran diálogo dramático-político en la cumbre del Olimpo entre los reyes de Prusia, Inglaterra, Francia, Portugal, España y la República de Holanda, que contiene detalladas relaciones de acciones de guerra en tierras americanas, como las expediciones del Almirante Vernon y los ataques a La Habana, La Guaira, Cartagena de Indias, saqueo de Portobelo, etc., así como sobre el ataque a San Agustín, en Florida, por el General Oglethorpe, gobernador de Carolina. Actualmente se atribuye la obra al médico protestante francés, exilado en Inglaterra y Holanda, J. Gautier de Faget, autor de "L'Argus de l'Europe . Ouvrage historique, politique, critique ; où l'on dévelope les intérêts & les maximes des souverains, depuis la mort de l'empereur Charles VI. jusques à la fin de la guerre que son auguste fille Marie Thérèse reine de Hongrie, grande duchesse de Toscane, soutient avec beaucoup de gloire" (Amsterdam, 1742-1743) y de la refundición de la obra anterior como "L'Oracle de ce siecle, consulté par les souverains de la terre : ouvrage singulier sur les affaires critiques et politiques du temps" (Londres, 1744).

Encuadernación en media piel. La obra aparece dedicada a los Duques de Alba, Don José Alvarez de Toledo y Doña Teresa Silva, por el autor, su capellán. Contiene numerosos datos sobre la actuación diplomática al servicio de Felipe III de Lorenzo de Brindis (1559-1619) cerca de Don Pedro de Toledo, Gobernador de Milán, así como sobre las primeras fundaciones capuchinas en España. Son destacables tambien dos capítulos sobre Villafranca del Bierzo, lugar de sepultura del Beato.

"Mably met en lumière l’apparition de ce qu’il appelle "le droit public de l’Europe" et montre comment ce mouvement de contraires, "guerres-traités", constitua un frein réel aux conquêtes. Par ailleurs, cherchant à comprendre les causes des obstacles concrets à un progrès du "droit des gens", il constate que le système économique européen possède un dangereux caractère expansionniste. Analysant les étapes de l’enrichissement par le commerce, il établit un rapport de causalité avec l’extension des guerres, du chômage et de la mendicité" (Florence Gauthier).
