From 1879 to 1895 the Connecticut Agricultural Experimental Station report and from 1888 to 1896 the Storrs School report were bound together with the Board report as well as issued separately. Overall thus 72 volumes in 43. An important record of agriculture agricultural thought agricultural practices and agricultural influences in Connecticut from the close of the Civil War to the just after the First World War. These Reports provide an overview of the Common Schools of New York county by county and subdivided by city and towns. The Reports included tables showing the operations of each system and provide statistics to numerous questions documenting the annual cost of operation associated with each school district. The miscellaneous report titled government document No. 34 In Senate January 29 1833 was produced by the New York State Senate and is thorough discussion of the debate over 'states rights' and the relationship of the Federal Constitution to constitutions of sovereign states. This was initiated by tariff issues that had impact on the State of South Carolina and other Southern States. An example of the Indianist movement in American classical music this composition was based on a text and melody transcribed by ethnomusicologist Natalie Curtis in The Indians Book 1907. San Francisco composer Carlos Troyer added a piano accompaniment he described as a "drum imitation." The cover reproduces an 1886 C.S. Fly photograph of Geronimo on the Warpath owned by Charles Lummis who supplied a short introductory essay titled "Geronimo The Apache Prophet." Also printed on the cover is the dedication "To Mrs. Rita Breeze of Los Angeles California." Breeze was a librettist who collaborated with Troyer on several projects. 1820105055<p>Archive contains more than 5o items including letters manifests printed and manuscript and pay vouchers etc. in a loose-leaf binder. Some light wear and creasing some minor chips and fold tears normal aging and toning; overall about fine.This is a fairly large archive of the career of Captain Paul Ambrose Oliver c1796-c1848 and his ships the "Louisiana" the "Tiber' and the "Trenton". The archive includes manifests for the shipment of sugar cigars and coffee from Havana to New Orleans St. Petersburg Hamburg and London. One key item is a partially printed Bill of Sale for the Ship "Tiber" dated January 13 1834 for $21500. There is also an estimate for repairs to the "Tiber' dated November 6 1836. The earliest document is dated September 14 1829 and while most of the other documents are between the late 1820s to the 1840s the archive includes some items that are later. There is a letter to his son Brigadier-General and Medal of Honor recipient Paul A. Oliver dated March 29 1869 there is also a copy of the Last Will and Testament of the younger Oliver done in 1911. General Oliver was actually born on his father’s ship the "Louisiana’". There are numerous pay vouchers and receipts from what appears to be a successful career. There is even a rare book list and the burial confirmation for Captain Oliver dated September 17 1849. Other interesting items include a family tree for the Olivers some family letters including a letter to his sons several receipts concerning coffee shipments and a number of ship manifests from various places.
