It shed some interesting light on the process of a refereed journal which the JEA has adopted, Mrs. Leahy submission of her husband's work as an anonymous manuscript for De Meulenaere as a referee, his comments on the work ("From the very beginning, I have suspected your husband to be the author of the article"), his reservations regarding the whole process of refereeing anonymous manuscripts, etc. A fascinating reading into the mind and working methods of these scholars. This is a very good hardcover copy with a fine dust wrapper. SIGNED by the artist, Alun Leach-Jones, in ink on the half title-page just beneath his printed name, and briefly inscribed to two collectors and dated in the year of publication. Right page edges a little wrinkled. Otherwise completely clean. Illustrated mostly in color with 36 plates + numerous black & white images including photographs of the artist. Alun Leach-Jones (1937- 2017) was a British born, Australian abstract artist. 12" high X 10" wide, 152 pages. Heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
This is a very good softcover copy in the original illustrated wrappers with just light wear. Almost completely clean inside (1 page has a few faint marks or notes, now inscrutable), light toning outside. Text in Italian. This catalog was prepared to accompany the large exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni at Rome in the spring of 1959. Text by Emilio Lavagnino and Antonio Santangelo. 2656 works in the exhibition. Checklist. Bibliography. Chronology (1700-1959). 9" high X 6" wide, 566 text pages + 80 black & white plates.
