A central figure Dutch figure with mustache and lengthy hair wearing a cross sits in an architectural setting surrounded by a garland of sea scallops pearls a crab flanked by Justice on one side she is blindfolded and holding a sword in one hand and scales in the other and another woman representing Christianity holding a cross. The figures above echo the spiritual and temporal themes; there are also three small scenes below the central figure; cupid a stag hunting scene and a monk with a balky horse. Four armorial helmets top a heraldic shield with cross miter Swan on top with markings of a castle sword through the center and a crown above with addition image of three-scallops in center piece flanked by two putti one holding an oyster shell with a string of pearls. This finely executed engraving is not signed or otherwise identified by its artist possibly trimmed. Three small "S" red-stamps along lower boarder. ca.1660-1740. unknown books

The Company was in fact a Training Camp for "Businessmen" who wanted to experience the rigors and discipline of military training; most of them were older than the average soldier. Laid in and producing offset tanning to endpapers is a taget card from the Bay State School of Musketry Boston Small Bore Rifle Range. Containing approximately 90 black and white photographic images of varying sizes; from 1 1/4" square to 3 ½" x 5 ½" postcard size; most of them average about 2 ½" x 3 ½." Mostly these are candid photographs of the life of young boys and men in Austria and Germany with internal dating on some of the photographs of 1929 to 1935 and additional place and dating information on some. There are photos of children mostly young boys at class and later as young men on class trips hiking cycling; with adult chaperones; for the older boys the educational duties appear to be supervised by Christian religious male instructors only. Also containing a few group photographs of men students priests; and some church interior views. Some of the images have the photography studio rubber stamps on the reverse of the state pharmacy in Rottweil. Five of the images are commercial images of architectural landmarks in Vienna. The photographs are corner-mounted not glued into two hardcover albums with black paper pages side-string tied. One album measures 6" x 8 ¼" and the other 7 ½" x 10 ½" approx. size; both albums with art-deco themed cloth covers. The film was considered Jayne's film debut though she had appeared in a few films already and starred on Broadway. A down-and-out gangster hires an alcoholic press agent to make his blonde bombshell girlfriend into a recording star despite the fact that she has no talent. Grand comedy vehicle for Jayne.
