Tre opere ognuna a se stante, riguardanti lo stesso argomento, in 4° (cm 17 x 21,5), bella legatura piena pelle coeva restaurata con titoli e fregi in oro al dorso, pp (20),366, 256 per la prima opera, parti prima e seconda; (4); 21, (164) per gli indici di: "Berg-Ordnung... Caroli Philippi..."; pp 115, (37) per: "Fasciculus quaestionum miscellanearum, in theoria et praxi maxime utilium, praecipue in majorem editi de ligno et lapide". Tre frontespizi, il secondo in gotico tedesco. Esemplare in buone condizioni, bruniture estese abbastanza intense a causa del tipo di carta, fragilità del margine esterno destro, che ha portato ad un restauro con velina alle prime dieci cc iniziali e alle ultime quindici.Sporadica, limitata perdita di qualche lettera di testo alle ultime due cc. Da p 95 a 310, restauro con velina di galleria di tarlo di modesta entità nel margine bianco inferiore della pagina. Trattato di opera giuridica ed economica su piante e produzione lignicola, minerali, prodotti del sottosuolo: pietre preziose, minerali, metalli e legislazione coeva sulla materia. Prima del "Fasciculus", due pagine di "Catalogus librorum quorundam juridicorum": bibliografia specifica in materia di normativa sulle risorse naturali e loro sfruttamento e valorizzazione. Un esemplare censito in SBN di altra edizione.

In 8° (20x13 cm); XII, 127, (3) pp. e una bellissima antiporta figurata incisa da Virginia Cordelli su disegno di Filidauro Rossi. Bella legatura coeva in piena pergamena rigida con titolo impresso al dorso. Tagli marmorizzata. Stemma calcogr. del dedicatario, il conte Emanuel de Richecourt, sul front. Antico timbretto settecentesco della celebre "Biblioteca Comitale Borgettiana" al frontespizio. Il domenicano Tommaso Maria Borgetti, eminente personalità del mondo marchigiano, dopo aver ereditato la biblioteca di famiglia integrò la stessa nel corso della sua vita attraverso scambi, vendite ed acquisizioni. Nei primi anni dell'ottocento rese disponibile la sua collezione alla consultazione di studiosi e bibliofili e alla sua morte, nel 1833, lasciò la sua biblioteca a lla città di Macerata che la fece confluire i volumi in quella che sarebbe poi diventata la Biblioteca Comunale Mozzi-Borgetti proprio in memoria delle due donazioni principali che ancora oggi la compongono. All'interno dell'opera qui presentata si trova la celebre "Relazione dell'erba detta da' botanici orobanche e volgarmente succiamele, fiamma e mal d'occhio che da molti anni in quà si è soprammodo propagata quasi per tutta la Toscana. Nella quale si dimostra con brevità qual sia la vera origine di detta erba, perchè danneggi i legumi, e il modo di estirparla. Scritta a benefizio degli agricoltori Toscani". Prima assai rara edizione in prima tiratura (una seconda tiratura uscì nello stesso anno) di questo importante scritto che diede origine all'Accademia dei Georgofili opera del celebre agronomo, letterato, studioso e accademico dei Georgofili, Antonio Motelatici. Fu proprio in risposta a questo scritto e su invito dello stesso Montelatici che un gruppo di studiosi, fra i quali il stesso autore, diede vita a Firenze il 4 giugno 1753 all'accademia dei Georgofili. La finalità iniziale era commentare le proposte di Montelatici di un ampliamento degli orizzonti della ricerca agronomica. Dopo un lungo soggiorno in terra francese, Montelatici al suo ritorno in Italia nel 1747, aveva portato con se un'impostazione illuminista. Con una scelta molto innovativa per i tempi l'obiettivo sociale additato dal dotto religioso fu quello di un organismo perfettamente democratico, come dice Montelatici "una perfetta anarchia". "Nominato abate della badia di S. Bartolomeo, mise a frutto le sue ricerche agrarie scrivendo il Ragionamento sopra i mezzi più necessari per far rifiorire l'agricoltura (Firenze 1752; edizione parziale in Scritti teorici e tecnici di agricoltura..., 1989, pp. 31-429), opera nella quale elaborò l'idea di fondare una società a favore dell'"industria agraria ". Montelatici si lega, in effetti, alla nascita dell'Accademia dei Georgofili, avvenuta a Firenze nel 1753, di cui fu fin da subito riconosciuto come "institutore" e nominato "segretario". Si trattava del "primo e nobile esempio in Europa d'una associazione d'ingegni intesi al perfezionamento dell'agricoltura" (Tabarrini, 1856, p. 3). L'agricoltura era considerata da Montelatici "arte nobile, dilettevole e fruttuosa… madre e nutrice di tutte le altre, sostegno e mantenimento della Repubblica" (Ragionamento, 1752, p. 2)… Gli interessi agrari di Montelatici possono essere collocati in quella fase centrale del Settecento in cui si delinea una nuova visione economica, che sviluppando le idee di Sallustio Bandini spinge i capitali toscani a spostarsi sempre più dal commercio all'agricoltura. In questa ottica i grandi proprietari fondiari erano sollecitati a superare l'atteggiamento assenteista per dedicarsi allo studio dell'agricoltura, occuparsi delle loro terre e migliorare l'attività rurale." Insieme a Genovesi del quale fu amico, Montelatici fu tra i primi a sviluppare in Italia le teorie economiche illuministe. Cinque tomi in cartonatura originale d'attesa con tasselli a stampa sul dorso, in 4to cm22x28, pp (4) (8) CCCCXLVIII 344, (4) 802, (4) 812, (4) 796, (4) 829 (3); diverse tabelle di cui tre su tavole ripiegate. Precoce enciclopedia economica compilata da Peuchet sulla falsariga dell'opera dell'amico abate Andre Morellet, che pubblicò nel 1769 un Prospectus d'un nouveau dictionnaire de commerce. Jacques Peuchet (1758-1830), funzionario amministrativo negli anni precedenti la Rivoluzione e nel primo periodo dell'amministrazione repubblicana (nel 1789 e 1791 pubblicò i due volumi del repertorio giuridico Dictionnaire de Police) si riavvicinò a posizioni monarchiche e fu arrestato (e liberato) nel 1792 e allontanato nel 1795 dagli incarichi che ricopriva al Ministero di Polizia; ritiratosi a Gonesse si dedicò alla stesura di questo Dictionnaire e di altre opere a carattere economico e statistico. Durante l'Impero e la restaurazione fu archivista di polizia, e compilò le “Mémoires tirés des archives de la police” (1837-38) che furono d'ispirazione per Balzac e Dumas. Esemplare ben completo e genuino, in barbe e in gran parte a fogli chiusi, legato in uniforme cartonatura d'attesa rosa con tasselli editoriali sul dorso, e con il foglio di piano dell'opera con tanto di pecetta di Avviso legato in apertura del tomo primo. Non comune a trovarsi completo.

No eighteenth-century French attack upon luxury exceeded in comprehensiveness that of the Abbé Pluquet. (.....) In volume I the author delineated the evil effects of luxury upon man as an individual, and upon his arts and morals; in volume II he showed, through analysis and through appeal to history, how luxury undermined collective political and social life and destroyed states, and how luxury might be extinguished. Pluquet, who was greatly influenced by Cantillon and Petty, was familiar with both Graeco-Roman views on luxury and those of his contemporaries. Among the defenders of luxury whose views he criticized are Mandeville, Melon, Montesquieu, Hume, Condillac, d'Holbach and others' (Spengler, French Predecessors of Malthus, chapter iv, section viii, with an elaborate analysis of Pluquet's work). - Verso of both title-pages with a black inkspot, which comes through and affects the address, apart from this a good copy.

His article, published well before any of the published statements of the Physiocrats, shows similarities or anticipates the physiocratic school in important issues of property and to some extent on taxation (He also cites China as an example). His Lockean discussion of the right of property and his treatment of taxation are of particular interest. Taxation is 'inevitable', and he suggests a tax on consumption, paid for by the buyer of non-essential items or services, foreshadowing modern VAT. Most importantly his single-minded opposition to economic inequality and his insistence that liberal laissez-faire was no substitute for a theory of social relations, influenced political reformers and political economists alike.Both works were translated by the Italian Niccolò Rota. - Old handwritten name on first title, light stain in upper inner margin of the first work, an uncut copy.

Prima edizione italiana con il testo non più diviso in 47 capitoli, ma esemplato sull’impianto dell’edizione francese curata da Morellet, con 42 capitoli e il riordino della materia secondo il canovaccio di un trattato giuridico (ordinamento che rimarrà in auge nella vulgata fino alle soglie del XX secolo). Denominata «edizione di Londra», fu probabilmente curata dal giovane Gaetano Poggiali. Molto bella la tavola allegorica all’antiporta, che «venne incisa di bel nuovo, ricalcando con grande fedeltà il modello originale del Lapi; su un rame di eguali dimensioni venne delineato al bulino l’intero frontespizio, che reca in basso una vignetta solo vagamente allusiva, raffigurante un prigioniero barbuto e seminudo avvinto in ceppi alla base di una colonna» (Cfr.
