After fierce educational activism throughout the 19th century led to the admission of women into medical schools at the turn of the century the twentieth century saw a decline of women in the profession. By 1949 only 5.5% of students entering medical schools were women. Students are shown in graduation gowns with sashes across their chests. student's name are listed including Female medical student as "V. McDorman." In very good condition. unknown
