Illustrated with 4 cuts of people on cycles with t.p. having decorative ornamentation to left. 12mo. 5-5/8" x 3-3/4" <br/><br/>"Pope Manufacturing Company was founded by Albert Augustus Pope around 1876 in Boston Massachusetts and incorporated in Connecticut in 1877. Manufacturing of bicycles began in 1878 in Hartford Connecticut at the Weed Sewing Machine Company factory. Pope manufactured bicycles motorcycles and automobiles. From 1905 to 1913 Pope gradually consolidated manufacturing to the Westfield Mass plant. The main offices remained in Hartford. It ceased automobile production in 1915 and ceased motorcycle production in 1918. The company subsequently underwent a variety of changes in form name and product lines through the intervening years. Yet all the way up to present-day bicycles continue to be made available under the Columbia brand." Wiki. An early promotional brochure by this long-time bicycle manufacturer. The samples represent a remarkable array of both prominent and provincial social and sporting clubs as well as military regiments schools colleges and universities. Located north of Napa County and San Francisco Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake wholly within the state and at an age of 2.5 million years the oldest lake in North America. It is known as the "Bass Capital of the West" and has long been a destination for watersports and other outdoor activities as this pictorial travel brochure attests: "Lake and mountain scenery may be enjoyed comfortably from the resort or hotel of your choice and many vantage points are to be found on the winding roads which encircle the lake. For the more adventuresome horses are available to explore the miles of bridle paths or a different but equally compelling view may be obtained from boats of which every type from canoe to 60-foot yachts are at the disposal of the vacationer." The National Aniline & Chemical Company est. 1917 produced now-scarce publications of shade cards and other manuals considered invaluable on account of their fund of technical information and work completed on a large scale. Dyed wool samples numerous illustrations of 1920s New York technical dying instructions throughout. Covers faded and slight signs of external dampstaining slight handling creases rubbing; overall very good. WorldCat lists 1 other copy. 19304680Brussels Belgium: Affiches Marci 1930. Folio 38 x 33 cm 20 pages. Album containing 156 chromolithograph trade cards. In French and Flemish. Album produced for Côte d'Or customers to collect specifically the company's botanical trade cards. Each page contains an outlined area for eight specific cards with a description for each printed in French and Flemish. Full-color trade cards are pasted down and depict a wide range of flora fauna and fungi. Album contains the full set. Côte d'Or was founded in 1883 by Belgian chocolate manufacturer Charles Neuhaus. Both the company's name and logo an elephant surrounded by palm trees and pyramids recalls the African origin of the source of the cacao beans used in the production of chocolate. The company is still producing chocolate today. An incredible example of vibrantly colored and elaborately designed trade cards and the intersection of advertising and the popular hobby of collecting. Cards and album produced by Belgian printing house Affiches Marci a company established in 1819 and still in business today. In slightly rubbed and bumped boards with slightly fraying green cloth spine; the front cover features a full color illustration of the botanical cards with the company's logo and the back features slightly faded checked floral pattern.
