Manitou scenic incline Ute Indian Trail to Cripple Creek Cog Road Station on Summit of Pikes Peak and others. Produced by the Board of Trade of the Pas with the chief purpose of attracting investment the book details the myriad opportunities for settlers and merchants including the rich minerals ripe for exploitation the agricultural prospects of the region lumber hydro-electric opportunities fisheries the fur trade game etc. Includes a detailed list of established businesses and professionals in Pas Flin Flon and surrounding communities. Excepting a small ownership stamp to the rear cover the extremities and contents remain without blemish. Exceedingly rare in commerce our offering being the only extant copy available at time of cataloguing. Unrecorded in OCLC. First edition of this scarce price list from the storied Weil Bros. fur trading company in Fort Wayne Indiana. During the opening decades of the 20th century there were skyrocketing prices for furs driven by the fashion market especially the more affordable ones such as mink skunk raccoon muskrat opossum and wild cat. Premiums were paid for mink beaver and especially otter. The Weil Bros. had initially established their business in 1870 and continued to operate for decades often issuing Trappers’ Guide books advertising in trapping and taxidermy magazines and issuing catalogues. A combination trade catalogue and cookbook produced by Philadelphia's Abram Cox Stove Company. Includes Bills of Fare for winter and summer dinners and advice on setting the table. The recipes are uncredited. The rear of the book includes an envelope pasted down and printed with "Use this pocket for clippings". ~ Internally clean and sound. In publisher's cream-colored oilcloth boards printed in navy blue. Some light adhesion to oilcloth corners slightly rubbed otherwise fine. Scarce. OCLC locates six copies. The Morgan brothers' parents emigrated from Wales in 1842 first settling in Pittsburgh before arriving in Cleveland in 1854. Located originally on Superior Street the W. J. Morgan & Company produced broadsheets trade cards pamphlets blotters postcards and posters to advertise local businesses.
