THE EDITION WAS DESTROYED SHORTLY AFTER PUBLICATION, AND THIS BOOK HAS BECOME ALL BUT UNOBTAINABLE. WorldCat lists only 12 copies. An interesting association copy from the library of Sarah Begum, a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society who, like the author, was one of very few outsiders who lived among the Huaorani. SIGNED by Begum on the front free endpaper, with a small sketch of a canoe and paddle. Folio. Publisher's laminated boards. Extremities lightly bumped, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Very rare and important.
