SEMERIA (Coldirodi 1867 - Sparanise 1931), barbabita, appassionato oratore, uno degli uomini pubblici più in vista del cattolicesimo italiano della prima metà del XX secolo assume qui una posizione apologetica sul problema ancor oggi molto dibattuto nella storiografia, del platonismo o aristotelismo di Boezio, e sulla questione, in realtà tuttora aperta, se egli abbia o no aderito al cristianesimo (unisi.it), strettamnte collegato com'era alla grande cultura pagana 2) CIPOLLA, Per la STORIA del PROCESSO di BOEZIO. pp. da p. 335 a p. 346). Carlo CIPOLLA (Verona 1854-Tregnago 1916), pp. 12. BOEZIO (Roma 475/477 - Pavia 524/526) , senatore, collaboratore di un Teodorico divenuto sospettoso, fu lungamente imprigionato con false accuse di connivenze con l'Oriente e di magia, fu giudicato a Roma da un collegio di cinque senatori, estratti a sorte, presieduto dal praefectus Eusebio, che nell'estate del 525, notificò la sentenza di condanna a morte di Boezio, che fu ratificata da Teodorico e sciaguratamente eseguita presso Pavia, ove si venera la sua tomba in San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro.
