Carlo CIPOLLA (Verona 1854-Tregnago 1916), pp. 12. BOEZIO (Roma 475/477 - Pavia 524/526) , senatore, collaboratore di un Teodorico divenuto sospettoso, fu lungamente imprigionato con false accuse di connivenze con l'Oriente e di magia, fu giudicato a Roma da un collegio di cinque senatori, estratti a sorte, presieduto dal praefectus Eusebio, che nell'estate del 525, notificò la sentenza di condanna a morte di Boezio, che fu ratificata da Teodorico e sciaguratamente eseguita presso Pavia, ove si venera la sua tomba in San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro.
