Il nazista, a poco a poco, è stato conquistato dall'atmosfera inglese e si è convertito alla causa della libertà. Il controspionaggio britannico, insospettito, cerca di appurare la vera identità di William Conrad, ma quando avrà ottenuto le prove sicure della sua qualità di agente nazista, egli sarà già lontano, sul fronte libico, a combattere per la patria di adozione. Vecchio, splendido e rarissimo numero della mitica collana “Oscar Mondadori” dedicato ad un autore ormai dimenticato come Pierre Boulle, con quest’opera d’esordio scritta due anni prima dell’enorme successo del Ponte sul fiume Kwai. Boulle era un ingegnere e agente segreto francese, ma curiosamente è rimasto famoso nella fantascienza per un romanzo assolutamente non fantascientifico come Il pianeta delle scimmie, semplicemente perché è stato totalmente stravolto al cinema.
