Sewing absent and toe of spine chipped externally dusty lightly foxed and with old stain in lower margin of title; faint old stamps of a defunct mercantile library; just a sound working copy. One of two Dublin printings of this date. A densely set strongly worded criticism of O'Connell by the founder of the Remonstrant Synod of Ulster: "To O'Connell's agitation for repeal of the union he was strongly opposed; his letter to O'Connell 1 Feb. 1831 was among the most powerful attacks upon the Liberator's position and did much to alienate Irish liberals from his cause" - DNB. OCLC/Worldcat locates four copies of this printing one incomplete one evidently a manuscript copy. Small chip to the front board of Division IX and a damp stain to the rear board. Front hinge of Division VI is strained rear hinge is tender. Small tidemark to the front paste down and endpaper of Division VI larger tidemark to the rear paste down. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots.
