Deux noms d'anciens propriétaires à l'encre sur les pages de garde et de titre. Binet entend prouver l'existence des démons par un examen des religions non chrétiennes, notamment en Égypte, en Grèce et dans l'Ancien Testament, et leur immixtion dans la chrétienté. A. Caillet, dans son "Manuel bibliographique des Sciences psychiques ou occultes", qualifie cet ouvrage de "très curieux".
