With 24 linocuts by Parry with alphabet on the opposing versos. Bound in the Japanese manner; string-tied decorative wrappers. An excellent copy of this scarce miniature Marian Parry is an author poet illustrator and watercolor artist. Her books have been published by Knopf Simon & Schuster Greenwillow Heritage Press and Limited Editions Pharos Verlag Switzerland and Scholastic Books. She has had numerous one-person shows. Her work is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York the Houghton Library of Harvard University and the Smith College Rare Book Room. The main archive of her work is in the print collection of the Boston Public Library. Founder and senior instructor of the Watercolor Program for the Radcliffe Seminars at Harvard University she was a fellow in the Bunting Fellowship Program at Radcliffe. Parry has illustrated 17 books. The first “The Space Child’s Mother Goose†published in 1958 by Simon & Schuster is still in print. Runcible Press unknown

Mild bit of edgewear; some slightly irregular and closely trimmed pages. Tight lovely copy of this American Tom Thumb Bible a popular category of miniature book in the early 19th century. This is a later printing of the edition that W. & J. Bolles first brought out around 1831. The woodcut illustrations are charmingly primitive. London. 1904 - 1906. 55 x 37mm Original publisher's suede gilt spine titles and marble endpapers all in fair condition with insect damage to part of one front and one rear board text in good condition printed on India paper with front page of three of the tiny volumes loose from the spine though all spines are surprisingly sound. The five volumes comprise The Chimes The Cricket On The Hearth The Battle Of Life The Haunted Man all 1904 and A Christmas Carol 1906 and although fragile at over a hundred years old they are an amazing and quant unretouched example of early miniatures all still readable. Les feuillets sont contenus dans une chemise sous jaquette bleue, le livre des Heures est également sous jaquette bleue. Le tout accompagné d'un volume de commentaire de 206 pages (21,5 * 30,5 cm.), pleine toile pourpre, texte en allemand et français. Le coffret est en pleine toile pourpre, blason doré sur le premier plat et tire bilingue doré sur le dos. ""Ces feuillets en fac-similé sont les reproductions à l'identique de quatre feuillets qui avaient été enlevés des Heures de Turin et échappèrent par là même à l'incendie de la bibliothèque.
