Editions unknown The Little Philosopher and The Way to Do Good are dated 1837 the rest are dated 1836. Miniature books approximately 82 x 52 mm 3¼ x 2½ inches pages: 1. 2 viii 313 3; 2. viii 190 2 15; 4. vi 2 189 18; 5. 214 2; 7. 2 274; 9. 6 280; The Way to Do Good 4 276. Uniformly bound in the publisher's diamond patterned dark brown cloth gilt lettering and decoration to spine all edges gilt pale yellow endpapers decorative frame to all title pages and chapter headings. No.2: last page of adverts and rear endpaper slightly creased tiny chip to fore-edge of endpaper; No.4: a touch of wear to head of spine; No.5: a touch of wear to top and bottom of hinges 5 mm ¼" split to bottom of upper hinge; No.7: very slightly worn at tail of spine; No. 9 a tiny rub to bottom of hinges slight crack between front endpaper and title page binding tight and firm; The Way to Do Good minute splits at top and bottom of hinges all contents clean no inscriptions. All volumes tight and very good. The Mother at Home is attributed to John Abbott Jacob's brother. Welsh page 1 lists 3 titles in the series No.23-25. Circa 1840 miniature book approximately 78 x 62 mm 3 x 2½ inches cover size frontispiece of the Kyloe Ox vignette on title page and 46 full page illustrations printed 1 side only pages: 191 1 - publisher's advert listing the first 6 titles in this series ours being the 4th. Bound in the original publisher's dark blue fine grained blind stamped cloth decorative gilt frame to upper cover containing gilt title gilt decoration to spine with gilt title all edges gilt pale yellow endpapers. No inscriptions a very good plus clean copy. Mostly British animals many dogs not quite all quadrupeds: 2 of the last British Quadrupeds described and illustrated are The Bat and The Ichneumon the latter almost worshipped by the Egyptians who 'esteem it so much that they keep it in their houses as we do the cat'. FIRST EDITION 1911 published for the coronation of George V in that year miniature book approximately 84 x 65 mm 3¼ x 2¾ inches cover size including yapp edges bound in the original publisher's green stiff paper wraps blue and brown floral decoration and title to upper cover and spine decorative frontispiece with portrait of George V and Queen Mary similar border to title page no pagination: 6 prelim pages with music and words of God Save the King on 2 pages followed by 122 pages in pairs: on the lefthand page a vignette with a quotation below a decorative motif to the top of the facing page with a blank space for autographs at the end are 3 pages each with a vignette but no space to write. Book leaning slightly no inscriptions several people have signed the first blank 1 slightly messy entry on a lefthand page another quite tidy otherwise clean and bright. A very good plus copy. The illustrations are mostly of persons both official and unofficial at the coronation plus some heraldic animals and some typical Charles Robinson babies. The artist had already illustrated an autograph book issued by the publishers for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902 The Coronation Autograph Book. Not in De Freitas Charles Robinson. Con ritratto di Dante in antiporta. Edizione particolare dell'opera di Dante chiamata "Vade Mecum"; intento degli stampatori non fu quello di realizzare la più piccola edizione in circolazione, ma quello di creare il più piccolo Dante leggibile ad occhio nudo. Bell'esempio di "miniature book" (libro in miniatura). Qualche leggera consunzione esterna, per il resto ottime condizioni.
