1925H34232Pittsburgh: Trinity Court Studio 1925. Hardcover. Very good. Folio 17 x 15 inches brown cloth stamped in gilt on front cover with 9 photos on paper measuring 13.5 x 9.5 inches the images themselves measuring 9 x 6.5 inches showing the 7 judges individually plus two group photos. Photos appear to be signed faintly in pencil by R. Johnson. On the brown pages on which these photos are mounted the individual judges are identified in Conté crayon. Very good with 1921 certificate broadside from the American Flag House and Betsy Ross Memorial Association declaring Porter a member in good standing 14 x 11 inches somewhat spotty and soiled. William David Porter 1850-1930 was admitted to the Allegheny County Bar in 1872 and served as District Attorney for Allegheny County from 1884 to 1890. From 1891 to 1898 he was a judge in the Court of Common Pleas and as such adjudicated some of the trials resulting from the Homestead Strike of 1892. in 1898 he rose to the Superior Court and was the presiding judge at the time of his death in 1930. This photograph was taken at the Alfa Lomax studio in Atlanta Georgia. There are cracks and chips to the photograph and it is in fair condition only. Ivan Allen Sr. 1876-1978 Ivan Allen cofounded the Atlanta office supply firm later known as the Ivan Allen Company in 1900. Through the "Forward Atlanta" campaign of the 1920s and many other activities Allen became the city's quintessential booster. Very good. 11.5 x 9.75 inches flexible black vinyl leatherette binder with 18 original photographs of Meadow Gold Dairies which we believe was located at 126 Denniston Ave. in the Shadyside/East Liberty neighborhood. Photos are either stamped on the versos by Swoger Studio or on the front in gilt by photographer Lou Farris. Very good condition. Photos show the main plant the receiving room the pasteurizing room the short time control panel the filling room the laboratory the cooler the byproducts room the engine room the cottage cheese machine the garage the Sandy Lake facility in Mercer County and cottage cheese vats. Albumen and silver salts on paper titled in negative "Place d'Armes Montreal" at bottom right. Photo measures 7.5 x 9 inches wide mounted on card measuring 7.5 x 9.25 inches wide. Photo with some fading mostly along bottom edge near title card mount slightly curved with browning verso. McCord Museum has this image in their collection also unsigned as Object Number II-41752 and date it 1876. Wm. Notman unknown
