There was a Harper and Brothers edition in 1937 marked "First Edition" which is far more elaborately produced than this edition so we suspect this to be a reprint. publisher's cloth-backed boards illustrated in color in dust jacket. Light brown stain on the front endsheet; corners bumped and worn; light rubbing to edges. The jacket is lacking the bottom two inches of the spine; front joint split; one coin-sized chip to a corner with other smaller chips; light soiling and a few short closed tears. Fine.<br /> <br /> A small collection of letters and forms from Pennsylvania artist Peter Bruckner Windrose Studio related to "Community-Supported Art" CSA and anthroposophy. The letters addressed to a 2007 subscriber both thank her for her support and give information on upcoming projects. Included is a printed letter from three of Bruckner's editors extolling his virtue as a storyteller "that has arisen out of the fountainhead of anthroposophy in his soul." It also mentions that Bruckner is currently writing a book on the subject THE ZODIAC PATH: A Contribution to the Ongoing Work with Rudolph Steiner's Waldorf Curriculum.<br /> <br /> "Community Supported Art" apparently a play on the term "Community Supported Agriculture" finances the creation of art by attracting subscribers who don't mind paying for their art ahead of time. In this case $150 will get you 10 titles over the course of a year or as many as you'd like to purchase individually at $15 apiece. According to Bruckner ".this is not about buying and selling but rather about creating the needed support for this material to become available in print." Framed. <br /> A series of six nude studies showing the same model posing in the photographer's studio. The style of the photographs which artistically combines high and low art allows to attribute the authorship to the Grundworth studio which is known to have been producing erotic postcards in Paris from the 1890s to the 1930s. <br /><br />Like most of the studios engaged in production of erotic photographs and postcards of the time little is known about it as despite the widespread circulation of these cards their production and distribution was illegal in France hence anonymity was essential. Given the time span and a number of different styles the name is unlikely to represent an individual photographer but more likely a group of photographers who were perhaps better known but wanted to hide their real identities.<br /> [Paris, c.1930s]. unknown

This studio portrait of the Melbourne etcher John Shirlow was presented by him to his close friend the literary figure R.H.
