In this unique copy, the drypoints have wide margins, have never been folded, and are all signed. Laid in is a manuscript text booklet by the artist, explaining the creation of this copy (it was printed for a prominent Italian opera singer) and providing the excerpts from the Divine Comedy on which her drypoints are based. This is a fine softcover copy with no wear at all. Completely clean. This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Christie's London on February 15, 2012. Sale code: FREUD- 6330. The sale consisted entirely of etchings by Lucian Freud printed at Studio Prints in London. The press was established in the late 1960's. Lucian Freud became a client in 1985, and for a quarter of a century produced some of his most memorable prints there. 44 lots in the sale all illustrated in black & white with some additional color images of related paintings. Auction results included. 11" high X 8" wide, 117 pages. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.

Quelques petites rousseurs et traces d'humidité marginales néanmoins bon exemplaire pour ces deux volumes reliés en un seul et qui constituent la bibliographie complète et essentielle à toute étude sur Denis Auguste Raffet. Ex libris. Le dos de la reliure se détache par l'intérieur et le premier feuillet est désolidarisé.
