Judy Stone started at the San Francisco Chronicle in 1961 putting in 10 years as editor of the Datebook section. She began reviewing films for the paper in 1971 favoring arthouse films. She was the youngest of four politically minded children whose eldest brother was the great reporter and gadfly I. F. Stone.She won the Novikoff Award given for "enhancing the public's appreciation of world cinema.†Among her publications are “The Mystery of B. This is followed by numerous examples of Smith's work organized under the following headings: World War II; Postwar America; Abroad; After Life; Japan. The Afterword by John G. Morris and there is a bibliography provided by William Johnston. "This volume accompanied the major retrospective exhibition of Smith's work. Organized by the Alfred Stieglitz Center of the Philadelphia Museum of Art" the exhibition began there in October 1985 and was scheduled to travel to nine additional venues in the U.S. through 1989. Softbound a decorated pamphlet in 10x9 inch stapled wraps. Intact but very handled with extensive crimping to all leaves; we see no tears or marked-up areas and no out-and-out grime. Staples very slightly touched with rust. A good good-only copy. Laid in is an order blank on toned letterhead. FYI the very first leaf is to be memorized by then discarded per dotted cut-line by the retailer; it reveals a wholesale-cost secret of which customers should remain ignorant "Read Remember - and Cut This Page Out".
