A sammelband of six nineteenth century plays each performed at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane apart from the final play which was performed at The Prince's Theatre.Comprised of the following: 'Everyman in his Humour' written by Ben Jonson an English playwright and poet known for his contributions to the comedy genre. Dated 1806 using Jisc from copies of the work held at the British Library. Illustrated with a frontispiece. 'The Magico Prodigioso of Calderon' or 'The Magic Prodigy' 1834 a lyrical drama written by Spanish dramatist of the Spanish Golden Age Pedro Calderon de la Barca. With one page of errata. 'The King's Seal: A Comedy' 1835 the first edition signed by the author to the title page with the inscription "With Mr. Kenney's best respects". James Kenney was an English dramatist producing more than forty plays and founding the Boodles' gentlemans club in London. '"Not a Word!" A Burletta' 1835 the first edition signed "With the author's best regards" to the title page although partially obscured due to the pages being closely trimmed. 'The Words of the Opera of Acis and Galatea' written by John Gay and adapted for stage representation from the serenata of Handel. Dated c1842 using Jisc from copies held at the University of Oxford libraries. With one page of publisher's advertisements.'Eurythanthe; A Grand Romantic Opera in 3 Acts' The Managers Edition written by German journalist and poet Helmina Von Chezy with the music by Carl Maria von Weber. In German and English. Dated using Jisc from copies held at the British Library. Each play is bound without half titles. Bound in half calf with marbled paper-covered boards. Externally lovely with the odd mark and light shelf wear. Endpapers and blanks renewed. No half titles. Internally generally firmly bound with just the first few pages and the frontispiece of 'Wit and Humour' a little strained. Pages are bright with the occasional light spot or handling mark.
