Following the Fire of London the church of St. Mary Le Bow was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren in the years 1668 to 1680. This 19th-century photograph shows the church and its neighbors including the offices of the London Stereoscopic & Photographic Co. On the far right side of the photo are the offices of Keith Prowse & Co. musical instrument manufacturer and music publisher. Cheapside itself is filled with horse-drawn vehicles and pedestrians. This is a beautifully illustrated edition of a fascinating mid-19th-century account of travel through Spain. Books are in Very Good Condition: loss of cloth at head of both spines; otherwise clean and bright a very uncommon state for white bindings but thanks here to the linen dust jackets.
