Most of these images were originally shot by the Centennial Photographic Co. who had proved to be quite successful during the Centennial and the photographers were in great demand through and after the Exhibition which featured over 10 million visitors. Released in a slightly reduced format and licensed out to Underwood & Underwood later Keystone and many others these offered visitors a cut-rate viewing experience. Barker 1844-1894 gained renown originally working for one of Ontario Canada’s leading photographers and later became well-known for his majestic photos of Niagara Falls before a Feb. 1870 destroyed his photo studio although the 800 stereoview negatives were preserved. He later began traveling to shoot views around the United States and released Exposition related images. See: Centennial Photographic Co.
