This monograph was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Belgrad from September 9 to October 7, 2005. Ivan Grubanov, in 2002, was visiting artist at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. By sheer coincidence, that same year, Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslavian president, was put on trial in the International Tribunal in The Hague. This was twenty minutes away from Grubanov at the Rijksakademie. Grubanov somehow got a Visitor's Pass for the trial, and came almost every day. Photographs were not allowed, but he was able to make drawings every time he was there. This book is the record of his experience. Text in Serbian and English. Essays by Gerardo Mosquera, Phillipe Pirotte, and Marina Martic. Illustrated with a few black & white photographs, probably screen shots from the televised broadcast into Yugoslavia. This is a sale catalog for an auction held in Berlin at Grisebach on October 25, 2018. The Sammlung Bernd Schulz auction was divided into three parts. Band I was the Alte Meister drawings section. Band III was all drawings by mostly German modern artists. We are offering Band II alone. This part of the auction was comprised of 30 drawings by Paul Holz (1883- 1938), a self-taught German Expressionist artist, perhaps less well known than some of the others.
