439072C.P. Thompson. Paperback. Very Good. THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. 'Stormcaller' started life as a set of ideas and illustrations when I was studying at university. My father Paul wrote the original narrative and I have gradually added to it and refined it into its current format. from Clare Thompson's Kick Starter page. I decided to go for a hand-made approach when creating illustrations for the book using mostly ink and watercolour. I found that working in this way has allowed me to use water to create the atmosphere I thought was necessary for a story set in stormy weather conditions. The citizens of the town begin to feel powerless and are increasingly at the mercy of the elements. To evoke this feeling I found an experimental approach was necessary. In some cases I allowed the water to be in control of the piece; having drawn the basic elements the water could bleed and wash the ink away as the people are subjected to increasingly severe conditions.
