Lavishly embossed contemporary black morocco gilt-stamped border and detail on boards and spine inside gilt dentelles a. e. g. pink moire endpapers; 4to; approx. 100 heavy cardstock leaves in different colors many with a decorative blind-stamped border. Joints lightly scuffed else fine. Showcases manuscript poetry and a wonderful array of artwork by numerous contributors as a few signed or initialed pieces attest names mentioned include Phillis S. Samuel and Caroline Samuel. With 11 engravings 8 of them hand-colored and 7 original pencil drawings 12 original paintings watercolors and gouaches 4 original silhouettes. Very nicely accomplished images of birds and animals landscapes portraits of women some in oriental dress and scenes like a group of men drinking and smoking at a table. A pleasing collection including an original trompe l'oeil piece that appears to be a collaged collection of cards. <br/><br/> hardcover
