Esso si propone, pur nella sua sinteticità, come un valido riferimento ed efficace strumento per gli operatori della formazione tecnica. Il libro, nel suo primo volume, espone principalmente argomenti riguardanti i concetti di base per la risoluzione di figure piane ed è strutturato in diversi capitoli: misurazioni degli angoli, funzioni goniometriche, la trigonometria, teoremi sui triangoli e quadrilateri. Si fa cenno anche alla cartografia, nonché all'utilizzo del software per il disegno elettronico.
