Blum (1898-1981) Collection at the Yokohama Archives of History Library contains some 7,000 items, including foreign books and magazines about Japan dating back to the 16th century, old European maps of Japan and Asia, and Japanese woodblock prints. The Yokohama Archives of History contain over 250,000 Yokohama-related materials from the Edo period to the Taisho-early Showa era. Initially planned to comprise 3 volumes only, the catalogue eventually was published in 4 volumes and is including a Supplement and an Index.

From his home at Shortfield House, Frensham, he took an active interest in the history of Surrey and Hampshire.
