Binding is solid and square, text/interior is clean and free of marking except for several words in the text underlined, apparently by a person who meant to look them up. Rohde; Henry Miller, Superman and Prophet by Albert Maillet. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED on title/contents page by Emil White who was one of Henry Miller's closest friends in Big Sur. Miller dedicated *Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch* to him and was one of Big Sur's most notable characters and a local painter. After Miller's death in 1980, White managed his estate (Big Sur Land Trust) until his own death in 1989. The book documents different views and perspectives on Henry Miller and particularly his trials with on charges of pornography and obscenity. 12 pages of photographs of Big Sur and of Miller, including the location of Miller's impressive residence in the hills of Big Sur's coast and miller hauling groceries up the dirt hill to his residence in his underpants and another of him sharing a cigarette with a 10 year-old, as well as one of Mr. Miller using a French urinal, in a traffic circle with drunks... Dude!
