Bound in quarter calf with marbled paper covered boards and gilt detailing to the spine. With the original French libretto by Jules Barbier and Michel Carre based on Goethe's novel 'Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre'. The opera tells the story of a young girl named Mignon who is rescued from a group of gypsies by a student Wilhelm. In a quarter calf binding with marbled paper covered boards and gilt detailing to the spine. Externally smart with rubbing to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Henry Howe October 11 1816 – October 14 1893 was an American author who wrote histories of several states in the United States. The Historical Collections of New York came out in 1841 and was profitable at sale of 10000. <br /> <br /> "The spring of 1840 had arrived when one day I walked into Mr. Barber's office and inquired if he had thought of making a book on New York State.
