Commercial string-tied album in black textured wraps. 58 cyanotype 11" by 8.25" and 55 gelatin-silver prints most 9.5" by 7.25" some 6" by 3.5" or smaller; four of the latter apparently perished. Adhesive-mounted recto and verso on black paper sheets. Very good. Some glue-bleaching to cyanotypes' edges. Many pages cleanly detatched from from perforated tabs but photos remain clean. <br/><br/>Album of storage tanks agitators and other liquid-related metal machinery photos compiled by the manufacturer which – judging by the locations of most of its clients – was located somewhere in the Midwestern United States. Majority of the photos show a single piece of equipment captioned with its order number destination e.g. "National Ice Cream Co. San Francisco" the product name e.g. "Deep Upright Closed Tank" shipment date dimensions and other relevant notes; several images show the product installed in its destination factory but most appear to have been taken before shipment. Many clients were ice-cream and other dairy processing plants and the majority were American; but a few were international including the Nestle plant in Switzerland and a Cuban brewery. Among the American non-dairy plants were the Coors brewery in Colorado a Perth Amboy chemical plant and a California paint manufacturer. Two images depict a dozen salesmen posing at the tank factory and others show factory workers in motion. Likely assembled as a salesman's book or perhaps company archive with its many cyanotypes a striking vernacular book and an informative record of industrial food preparation at the dawn of the Ford age. paperback books

Included is an announcement of the premiere and an invitation to the play both on Broadway producer and publicist Barry Hyams letterhead the latter signed by Hyams in holograph ink as well as a production synopsis of the play listing cast and crew theatre and opening and closing dates.<br/><br/>A modern take on the biblical story of Noah "The Flowering Peach" premiered at the Belasco Theatre on December 28 1954 for a run of 135 performances closing on April 23 1955 and featured stars of Yiddish theater Menasha Skulnik and Berta Gersten. Remade as the Broadway musical "Two by Two" in 1970 by Richard Rodgers Martin Carnin and Peter Stone starring Danny Kaye. An unusual play for social realist Clifford Odets a humorous modern take on the Biblical story of Noah. The last original play produced by the playwright. <br/><br/>8.25 x 10 inches. After the chief Warder's death his widow presented the 2 manuscript books to the British military which then authorized a few sets to be copied in photo-offset. 2 folio volumes 247 handwritten pages. Clean and solid and VG. Bound in 1/2 red morocco over red boards. Bright gilt-lettering and rule to the front panels. Books signed by Burchell are rare. Between 1936 and 1985 British novelist Ida Cook wrote 122 romance novels under the pen name Mary Burchell to fund the escape of nearly 30 Jews during World War II. She helped to found and from 1966 to 1986 was the second president of the Romantic Novelists' Association. An early and apparently unrecorded regional cook book from a small town in central Illinois. This work was likely published as a charity effort by the ladies of the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. In addition to the numerous recipes for soups meats desserts drinks sauces and cheeses the book is full of advertisements for local businesses in the area. Many of the recipes are attributed to individuals. We find no record of this work in OCLC or in the trade. A rare survival likely published in a small run for local distribution. Unrecorded community cook book for the Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in American Falls Idaho. The preface contains a list of contributors though individual recipes are not identified with a specific woman. In addition to the usual range of meat cheese soups vegetable bread and dessert recipes this work includes sections on "Canning and Drying Vegetables" and "Meat Canning Recipes." These speak to the slightly frontier nature of living in southeastern Idaho at the start of the twentieth century. At the time American Falls was a town of about 1000 people. Cook's original purpose in exploring the region west of Greenland was ostensibly to organize a hunting expedition. Just north of Etah Cook decided that conditions were good enough for an assault on the North Pole and set out on his journey over the sea ice with two Eskimo companions two sledges and 26 dogs. Cook is one of the most controversial figures in the history of polar exploration. His supporters claim that he was the hero of the Belgian Antarctic Expedition the first to climb Mt. McKinley and the first to stand at the North Pole allegedly only four days before Robert Peary. Others insist that Cook faked his claims to both Mt. McKinley and the North Pole and continued a career of deceit by using the mail to defraud investors in a Texas oil promotion for which he was convicted and spent five years in federal prison. During a Wimbledon championship tournament a rising tennis star falls in love with an older woman a jet-setter who is in turn involved with a millionaire. Dean Paul Martin true to his depiction in the film competed in a junior competition at Wimbledon and became a successful professional tennis player. Martin also was an avid pilot obtaining his license at the age of 16. He became an officer in the California Air National Guard in 1981 and in 1987 having risen to the status of captain tragically crashed during a snowstorm in the San Bernadino Mountains. <br/><br/>Set in and shot on location in Wimbledon London. <br/><br/>Black titled wrappers. "Segunda edicion" of this scarce and extensive cook book first published in 1905. The current edition has been revised corrected and updated with more than 300 additional recipes. The verso of the introduction is adorned with a handsome wood cut of an opulent meal at table. The volume is filled with a wide variety of recipes for papas tortillas huevos lenguas sopas lomos salsas pastels and more.
