Cook and Mr. James H. Evans were co-guests of honor and speakers on October 18th 1984. The Union Pacific Corporation Union Pacific is a publicly traded railroad holding company. It was established in 19692 and is headquartered in Omaha Nebraska. It is the parent company of the current form of the Union Pacific Railroad. Union Pacific was located in New York City from the company's re-founding in 1969 until Drew Lewis became CEO in the mid-1980s. He relocated the corporate headquarters to Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Later the headquarters was shifted to Dallas Texas before relocating the corporate headquarters to Omaha to join the Union Pacific Railroad headquarters.4 Lance M. The author claims "This little book is imperfect and incomplete but it will enable the owner to speak French enough to get about Paris." The book is divided into sections on the Hotel Railway Station Public Carriages About Bread and Coffee Midday Meal Dinner About Wines Things for Men Things for Women and then general numbers and vocabulary. Sections are interspersed with helpful hints such as "Pinch your nose when you say anything ending in n in order to achieve the nasal sound desirable." Wine vocabulary includes translations for Good Red Wine St. Jullien and Good White Wine Sauterne revealing some contemporary prejudices. There is a little bit of pencil annotation to the wine page and to one other otherwise very good in printed pale green canvas wrappers with a pocket in the front. Bit of edge wear and light soiling to wrappers otherwise very good. Rare. OCLC locates four copies of the 1907 second edition only only one in the US and none of this first edition. C.S. Draft script for a 1973 Roderick Cook adaptation of the 1929 Noel Coward musical likely written after Cook's 1972 musical review of Coward's work entitled "Oh Coward!" <br/><br/>A three act operetta in which a wealthy young woman elopes with her music teacher. Coward's original script was basis for the 1933 film directed by Herbert Wilcox and the 1940 film directed by WS Van Dyke. The Van Dyke film was so disliked by Coward that he vowed to never let Hollywood adapt one of his works again. <br/><br/>Adaptation writer/actor Roderick Cook worked extensively with Coward's material his best-known work being a highly well-received 1972 musical review of Coward's work entitled "Oh Coward!" While it is believed that Cook's adaptation of "Bitter Sweet" was never performed professionally and the material in this script was not utilized in "Oh Coward!" it was likely written after Cook's considerable success with the review encouraged him to take another look at Coward's oeuvre. <br/><br/>Set in London and Vienna. <br/><br/>Pink titled wrappers with credits for playwright Noel Coward and adaptation writer Roderick Cook. Title page present dated September 1973 noted as REVISED with credits for screenwriter Coward and adaptation writer Cole. 96 leaves with last page of text numbered III-1-18. Mimeograph duplication. Cook's memoir is one of the most detailed treatments on the subject of billiards of its time. <br/><br/>Moderate foxing throughout light soil to the rear board light creases to some of the tissue guards offsetting to the endpapers light fraying and rubbing to the extremities with splitting to the internal hinges. This copy with several neat and informative shoulder notes penned by an early owner who has also tipped-in to p. 51 the original front wrapper printed recto and verso to part 13 of The Penny Pickwick which Cook lists on the facing page under "Plagiarist Titles and Continuations." A significant association copy probably in a presentation binding inscribed by the compiler to the novelist's son on a preliminary leaf: "To Charles Dickens Esq. with the regards of the Compiler James Cook Aug. 27 1879." Cook's BIBLIOGRAPHY "made with a set of the various Works as they were originally published in parts or in volumes" precedes that of R.H. Shepherd Manchester 1881 and several items directed at collectors such as Johnson's HINTS TO COLLECTORS 1885. Cook provides "such particulars as are necessary to give the Bibliophilist or Collector a thorough knowledge of the peculiarities of the several editions".
