Undated. Circa 1995? Decorated envelope containing 8 black and white prints on sheets measuring 11.625" long by 8.25" wide. Envelope shows average wear and prints show signs of handling. Artist left us with a small book of pencil sketches and philosophical notes; and a legacy of mystery as to the man and the artist. Apart from one unsigned watercolour attributed to him, and the sketchbook of ideas and colour notes for possible later use, nothing else is known of Andrew Hamilton and his art. These prints show perception, accuracy, and delicacy of style, together with a mastery of perspective against the massive horizons of Otago's gaunt landscape. These eight prints selected form Hamilton's only verifiable work are a belated tribute to this little-known Victorian artist. Book
