First American edition: 361p. thick pulpy paperstock making for a thickish volume blue cloth gilt with a gilded top edge; nice production. Somewhat edgeworn with bits of fray to the top rim and small closed tears to both rims; foxing is pervasive and spots the text edges all blanks and some of the preliminary and terminal leaves. Both hinges are cracked but are holding well enough with no sizable gaps; a square generally sound copy of an original edition it was published in England the US and in France and a rather handsome book with bright gilt.
