Both hinges are cracked but are holding well enough with no sizable gaps; a square generally sound copy of an original edition it was published in England the US and in France and a rather handsome book with bright gilt. Type in red or black superimposed over a map of the Middle East which appears to reflect boundaries as of about 1918 before the victorious WWI allies redrew Middle Eastern boundaries. The American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief was founded in 1915. It was renamed the American Committee for Relief in the Near East in 1918. Cleveland H. Dodge of the family which founded the Phelps Dodge Corporation copper mining was instrumental in the establishment of this organization and served served as its Treasurer.
