Fine English In modern black frame. Size; (26 x 57 cm). Limited edition. Original graphic poster of Altintas in memoriam François Truffaut for 13. International Istanbul Film Festival, 2-12 April, 1994. He was born in 1935 in Istanbul. He graduated from the Poster Atelier of the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts in 1957. His first solo exhibition was held in 1964 in Istanbul and it was recognized as the first Turkish graphic design exhibition. In 1968 he pioneered the establishment of the Association of Graphic Artists. In 1976 he became a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts, School of Applied Industrial Arts, and he was appointed as the director of the school in 1979. He was the chairman of the Professional Association of Graphic Designers in 1982 and from 1987 to 1993. He held exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, and participated in many collective exhibitions. He showed his artworks in international biennials and triennials in different countries. By virtue of 60. birthday, he invited selected graphic designers worldwide and held an international poster exhibition in 1995 in Istanbul. Eventually he initiated the establishment of the international poster archive in Mimar Sinan University, Department of Graphic Design, with the posters sent to the exhibition. He became a professor in 1995, was appointed as the chair of the Department of Graphic Design in 1996, and as a member of the board of directors of Mimar Sinan University in 2001. Altintas has retired from the same university in 2002. A number of his works were accepted by museums and archives in countries such as Switzerland, Poland, France, and the USA. He received various national awards. In 2004, he was awarded Icograda Achievement Award by ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) due to his contributions in Turkish graphic arts. In 2009, he was selected as a member to AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). In 2011 he received the 'Artist of Honor Award' of the TÜYAP 21st Istanbul International Art Fair. In 2012 he was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal, a decoration in Arts awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, and in 2014 "Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland". He has been working as a Professor at Feyziye Schools Foundation, Isik University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Visual Communication Design Department since 2012.

This rare book is a travel book published in 1930 by the founder and deputy of Cumhuriyet newspaper Yunus Nadi, who will take the surname Abalioglu with the surname law enacted in 1934. His articles in this book, in which he conveyed his impressions of his 49-hour long voyage over Europe in 1929 with the airship called Graf Zeppelin, were actually serialized in chapters in Cumhuriyet newspaper in 1929. As stated in the book, the articles were sent to the newspaper by telegram available on the Graf Zeppelin during this voyage. Nadi, who made a trip on Lake Constance with Dornier X aircraft before the zeppelin journey, tells the readers how difficult it was to find tickets for the Zeppelin journey, whose tickets were sold out days ago. Nadi, who finally came to the city of Friedrichshafen after finding a ticket, started his Zeppelin journey on 21 October 1929. In the further steps of the journey, which continues first to Munich and then further south to Vienna, this time it returns to Friedrichshafen from the route of Hungary and the Czech Republic, over Balkan cities such as Sofia and Bucharest. Yunus Nadi, who wanted to get off at Breslav on the return route and continue his trip to Berlin by train, had to get off in Friedrichshafen due to the weather conditions. From the very beginning of the zeppelin journey, and especially when they approached Sofia, he insisted why to stop by Istanbul on the route. The work decorated with many details, from the service in the Zeppelin to the interior design of the airship, with a rich and literary expression ends up with a "lahika" (i.e. appendix) called "Miscellaneous articles on the aviation", which consists of articles previously published in the Cumhuriyet newspaper, most of which belong to Yunus Nadi. The information on his life is fragmentary, based on what he writes in his Diwan and on stories told within the Bektashi tradition. He is the author of a Diwan. This Diwan contains 417 poems, all of which bar one are ghazals. He mostly used the Turkic system of versifying, based on the number of syllables and stress position rather than the elaborate rules of Arab-Persian prosody. He used the Old Anatolian Turkish language, which was understood by everyone in its period, with very few Arabic or Persian words, and he contributed greatly to the establishment of a Turkish mystical vocabulary based on classic Sufi terms. The most recurrent themes in Yunus Emre's Diwan are mystic love(âsk), the Friend (dost), and how to be a dervish. Yet he is no recluse and the conditions of everyday life are reflected in his poems. His easily understandable religious and moral advice is couched in a lyrical language that is heartfelt, sincere and often highly passionate. His poetry, set to music, was of central importance in the dissemination of Sufi teachings in Anatolia, and influenced the tekke poetry of the following centuries. It is very important poetry book on sufism and Islamic mysticism.
