Between 1990 and 1995 The Folio Society produced a series of finely bound limited editions of nine of their classic titles this being 'Of Gods and Men' by Frederic Raphael with illustrations by Sarah Raphael. The edition is limited to 100 numbered copies and an unspecified number of lettered copies maximum of 26 which were given to people associated with the book. This is lettered copy 'G'. It has been signed by both Frederic and Sarah Raphael. The book is quarter-bound in purple goatskin leather with gilt lettering to the spine and hand-marbled sides by Ann Muir. Top edges gilt. There are eight full-page colour illustrations by Sarah Raphael and the title page lettering is by John Andrew. 174 pages. Printed on Virginia Wove and Fineblade cartridge paper. Housed in a black slipcase with inset paper label. Printed and bound in the U.K. The book is in fine unread condition without flaws. The slipcase has some very minor scuffing. In the present paper one of Robinson's last publications he discussed Minsky's 4-symbol 7-state Turing machine which Minsky constructed in 1962. "This paper contains everything that is needed for an understanding of Minsky's machine including a complete description of its operation. Minsky's machine remains one of the minimal known Turing machines. That is there is no known such machine which decreases one parameter without increasing the other" p. 551.
