A letter about Caslon Type Faces written by Eric Gill to his younger brother 'Maz' McDonald Gill and published in the Hawkesyard Review 1918. 'Its purpose here is to show the range of Caslon types in use at the Whittington Press. Each size was cast by Stephenson Blake of Sheffield. The 16-point came to us from the Stanbrook Abbey Press and was probably cast by the Caslon Foundry before it was acquired by Stephenson Blake Ltd in 1937. The 96 -point initial M was cast by American Type Founders'. Printed on Zerkall Ingres paper. Very good condition some creasing around edges. There is no imprimatur and the cover states that the work is only to be used for private devotion. The booklet is beautifully clean inside and out with no significant marks. COPAC cites this work as another edition of Social Justice and the Stations of the Cross and gives the publication date as 1940. 16 pages. 145 x 90 mm 5¾ x 3½ inches. . Couvertures en papier agrafé crème avec titres et décorations rouges avec une gravure du Christ crucifié. Détails de l'éditeur au dos de la couverture. Chacune des stations est accompagnée d'un verset et d'une réponse d'une description et d'une brève réflexion.
