On the verso of the title page it states: "Plans and procedures for using Children of the Harvest will be found in 'A Primary Teacher's Guide on Migrants' by Armilda B. Keiser." Gertrude Warner in her introduction to the book directed to her young readers asks them to think about how food their family buys gets onto their pantry shelf: "When you eat these things next time just stop a minute and think about the people who picked them." She suggests it might be children just about their age and that if they would like to do something to thank those children they can write to the Council of Women for Home Missions in New York City for instructions on how to send thank-you presents to the children who work in the fields. <br/><br/> Friendship Press hardcover books

Good in 3/4 red leather and pebbled black cloth covered boards with gilt tool work and text on the spine and with the edges of the text block marbled. An octavo measuring 9" by 5 1/4" with 1/4" deep chipping to the leather at the head of the spine and with 1/8 chipping from the leather at the heel of the spine. The leather at the lower tips of the boards is worn through. There is also considerable foxing throughout the pages but none so bad as to render the text unreadable. 576 pages of text illustrated with a frontispiece and throughout the text with line drawings and wood cut engravings by the author. The fold-out hand colored map following the preface is present and is in excellent condition with only a minor closed tear of 1/2" long at one of the folds. So well did they get a long that they made this film soon after the story of a sly businessman on vacation who gains the confidence of his rival business' family members. Though it was a George Arliss vehicle this herald highlights Bette Davis and presents her as the ultimate cheese cake model -- a role which she played aptly but which was not a challenge for her vast talents which Warner Brothers a few years and many fights later allowed her to display in great roles. A promotional book for patent medicine from H.H. Warner & Co. with the usual assortment of medicinal recommendations glowing testimonials household and culinary recipes and advertisements. Also mentioned is Warner's Safe Cook-Book "the most valuable family recipes ever published." Lightest discoloration to some leaves otherwise fine in wrappers boldly decorated with a woodcut of a child sitting stop a sea captain's shoulder. Laid-in is a printed addendum a warning against falsely advertised products with a guide to telling the fakes from the real Warner's nostrums. Scarce. In Very Good or better condition toned a tiny bit of storage wear. Authentic cinema memorabilia from this film is highly desirable and hard to find.
