Undated dated using the British Library and Oxford University copies found on Copac. A very scarce work with only four copies on Copac found at Oxford University Exeter University Leicester University and the British Library. In a full cloth binding with gilt stamping to the front board. Externally smart. Boards have several handling marks and have faded due to the colour. Cloth to the rear board is slightly cockled. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Small creases to the top of pages 39-60 to the outer corner. The odd spots to pages. Very Good Western Morning News hardcover

In the publisher's original cloth binding with the original unclipped dust wrapper.This novel largely inspired by the author's time in Greece during the early stages of the Greek Civil War depicts imprisoned leftists presenting King Lear in their prison camp.Warner reflected his early anti-fascist beliefs within his work known for writing dystopian and allegorical novels depicting such themes. In the original cloth binding and original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart. Bright cloth with minor rubbing and bumping to extremities. Dust wrapper is in good condition. Small chip to spinal panel and edge wear. Light handling marks to rear panel. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spotting to front few leaves and fore edge. Spine with gilt thick and thin ruled and piped lines and oval centre pieces. Red morocco label gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Edges a bit rubbed and bumped and small amount of chipping to the edges of the label not affecting the lettering but generally a very good copy. Printed by R. Cruttwell, Bath, and sold by G.
