Containing, with other great and remarkable things, not revealed to any other person on earth, the sudden and perpetual fall of the Turkish, German, and Russian empires, wrote under the direction of the Lord God, and published by his sacred command, it being a second sign of warning for the benefit of all nations, by the man that will be revealed to the Hebrews as their prince and prophet. Two volumes constituting the major work of Richard Brothers, the founder of Anglo Israelism; born Dec. 25, 1757, at Placentia, Newfoundland; died at London Jan. 25, 1824. Brothers described himself as the nephew of the Almighty, because he considered that he was descended from one of the brothers of Jesus, and claimed that on Nov. 17, 1795, he would be revealed as the prince of the Hebrews and ruler of the world. Before that date, however, he had been removed to a lunatic asylum, where he wrote his Revealed Knowledge of the Prophecies (1794) , A Description of the New Jerusalem (1801) , and The New Covenant Between God and His People (a posthumous work, 1830) . Brothers seems to have been the first person to claim that the English are descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes; and his views are still referred to with respect by the adherents of Anglo-Israelism. His Description of the New Jerusalem contains a series of plates of the various officials of the new kingdom which was to be restored in Palestine under his leadership. These officials are all dressed in the court costume of George III. (1906 Jewish Encyclopedia) . Reasonably detailed history of the service (Middle East, Western Desert, Europe) of one of the most renowned allied armoured formations of WWII. Dr. Rupert (1916-2006) was an influential South African billionaire businessman and a founding member of the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Published in: Nuovo atlante geografico universale delineato sulle ultime osservazioni. Roma, Calcografia camerale, 1792-1801.Cassini was geographer and cartographer but he was also good at engraving architectural items and perspectives – he was one of the best disciples Giovanni Battista Piranesi had. Moreover, Cassini was one of the last artists to engrave spheres in the XVIII century and his globes were quite famous and widespread, and realized the most important Italian Atlas of the XVIII century; his maps always bear a cartouche, extremely rich in colours and details. Copperplate with fine original hand colour, some foxing, otherwise in very good condition.The Cassini's Atlas was reprinted by the Calcografia Camerale in the first quarter of XIXth century (before 1839). Only the first edition of the atlas is printed on contemporary laid paper, while the late issue are on XIXth century paper and often without colour.

With 16pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. The author, better known as the Swedish explorer of Central Asia, spent two months with the German forces in France and Belgium early in WWI. His account, although criticised strongly for its apparent partiality, is nontheless valuable for its first-hand observations of the German Army at war, from command structures through to weapons and equipment. This copy was formerly in the library of a member of 16th Devon (Yeomanry) Battn, attached 74th Division, and bears his signature on front free endpaper. 'The division was formed in the course of the Palestine Campaign from dismounted Yeomanry regiments. It undoubtedly contained some of the finest material that Britain ever put into the field. Having taken a leading part in the Third Battle of Gaza and the capture of Jerusalem, it was sent to France in the Spring of 1918 where it again distinguished itself.
