1966WRCLIT73802New York 1966. Whole number six of six published. Quarto. Stapled wrappers enclosed in outer wrappers made of sheets from the New York Times with rubber stamped title and number. Illustrations. Internally near fine but of course the old newsprint has inevitably deteriorated become brittle and chipped and caused some tan offset to the internal wrappers and edges. Through its brief life edited variously by Lewis Warsh David Franks and Lewis Ellingham who is sole editor of this issue. Contributors to this number include Snyder Hacker Stanley Waldman H. Baseball Magazine was published for almost 50years ending in the late 1950s. This copy was probably the first published after the official end of WWII. An editorial in this edition talks about post war plans by some teams to improve their stadiums. This would include the New York Yankees. The cover photograph features the Chicago Clubs' pitching staff. Articles in this issue include "The Road Ahead" about what the end of the war will mean for baseball and another article on the value of players doing time in the minors. </p> The Baseball Magazine Company, books

This print accompanied the circa 1770 edition of "The Gentleman's Magazine". The Gentleman's Magazine founded by Edward Cave of London in 1731 was the first to use the term 'magazine' for any periodical. With its widespread distribution across the British Empire it was read throughout the English-speaking world. Although the magazine went into decline during the late 18th century it ran uninterrupted until 1922 reporting anything it thought would be of interest to its readers from Latin poetry to commodity prices.
