Deux nerfs en dos se laissant percevoir sous la peau . La dédicace est à Monseigneur François de Harlay , Archevesque de Paris . Vincent de Lerins écrivit ce texte peu de temps après le concile d'Ephèse , au IV° siècle , où participent dix évêques pour déterminer ce qu'il faut déclarer comme hérétique concernant les grands dogmes de l'Eglise . Notamment la grande question tourne autour de la Trinité et ce qu'il est important avant tout pour les patriarches dont celui de Nice , c'est de préserver la transmission des dogmes et de déclarer hérétique tout ce qui les modifie . Ce n'est pas un hasard que l'on traduise à nouveau ce texte au XVII° siècle , en pleine bataille avec les protestants . On y trouvera une lettre d'Henry IV dans les remarques sur l'auteur , qui forment la partie la plus riche de sens pour l'histoire religieuse . Vignettes , lettrines et cul-de-lampe . Ils étaient plusieurs frères: Louis, le célèbre négociateur dévoué au cardinal de Retz, Antoine, un jésuite aumônier du roi et Jean. Ce dernier naquit à Paris vers 1631. Elevé par les jésuites il fut très jeune un véritable savant latiniste et helléniste. Il mourut en 1663 à peine âgé de 32 ans. Ce recueil contient ses seuls textes jamais imprimés. Ils sont précédés d’une longue préface biographique. Le recueil contient le Panégyrique de la Vierge; celui de La Croix; le Panégyrique de la Vie Religieuse; celui des Saints; de St. Augustin; de la profession religieuse; de St. Mathieu; St. Paul. On y trouve aussi un Discours pour la VESTURE D’UNE RELIGIEUSE (p. 308 à 345); un DISCOURS SUR L’HUMILITÉ (346 à 386) et quelques textes en latin. (Cioranesco 65951.)"
