br. Il libro annuncia già dal titolo il suo obiettivo: cercare e comunicare buone ragioni di speranza. E lo fa scoprendo luoghi di Vangelo incarnato, esperienze antiche e iniziative nuove che mostrano all'opera l'inesauribile creatività dello Spirito. Questi commenti al Vangelo nascono come una sorta di lectio divina a due voci, maschile e femminile, voluta perché dalle divergenze e dalle sintonie di due persone, dalle loro storie diverse, possa meglio risaltare la capacità inesausta del Vangelo di parlare parole di vita piena. Ogni commento è concluso da una poesia, per tentare di "dire Dio con arte", perché, come ricorda il poeta e mistico Divo Barsotti, "la poesia dice la gratuità della vita" e si propone perciò come via per avvicinarci allo stupore di Dio.

"Questa raccolta di omelie per il ciclo liturgico C, che fa seguito alla precedente dal titolo Ha fatto risplendere la vita (Servitium, 2003), è il frutto della trascrizione puntuale e assidua delle registrazioni effettuate durante la liturgia festiva di mezzogiorno nella Chiesa di San Carlo al Corso a Milano. Esse conservano perciò il tono discorsivo e amicale, familiare e spontaneo, proprio di una liturgia comunitaria. Il titolo del volume "La bellezza tua voglio cantare" è una citazione del Salmo 8 nella versione lirica di David Maria Turoldo e un piccolo tributo pagato per il molto che molti, e io in particolare, dobbiamo a quel grande fratello e maestro. Il desiderio di cantare la bellezza di Dio risponde a un bisogno di "filocalia" (amore della bellezza) di ascendenza biblica: "Cantate inni con arte" (Sal 33, 3; 47, 8); "sulla cetra vi spiego l'enigma" (Sal 49,5): con gli strumenti della musica e della poesia il salmista accosta il mistero di Dio e ne trasmette l'eco. "Filocalia", che già Agostino d'Ippona poneva a sigillo della misura alta della vita, nella Regola: "Questa via seguite come innamorati della bellezza spirituale" (spiritalis pulchritudinis amatores)». Benedetto XVI ha affermato che "la crisi ecclesiale in cui oggi ci troviamo dipende in gran parte dal culto della liturgia che talvolta viene addirittura concepita: etsi Deus non daretur". A questa formula, che riassume l'itinerario di secolarizzazione della società contemporanea, il Papa ha opposto quella etsi Deus daretur, che contiene una visione del mondo fondata sul principio del sacro. Espressione per eccellenza del sacro è la liturgia, la preghiera pubblica della Chiesa, atto di culto non del singolo uomo, ma della comunità dei battezzati, riuniti attorno al Santo Sacrificio dell'Altare. Questa liturgia non è solo la trasmissione della parola di Dio all'uomo, e la sua santificazione attraverso i Sacramenti; essa è anche e innanzitutto un insieme di forme sensibili che elevano l'uomo verso Dio e lo aiutano a glorificarlo e a rendergli il culto dovuto.
