RARE Torah published by Va'ad Hatzala in Munich, 1947, and distributed gratis to European Jews who survived the Holocaust. Includes Rashi and Onkelos illuminations alongside the text. Includes all 5 books of the Torah as well as the books of Ruth, Eichah ("Lamentations") and Kohelet ("Ecclesiastes"). This particular copy of the Hebrew Bible was owned by Eliezer Kaplan, Israel's first Minister of Finance, and bears his name on the cover. [ATTRIBUTES:] 175x135mm, 194pp. Brown leather hardcover with ribbed spine. Gilt text and decorations on front and spine. [CONDITION:] Cover and spine edges rubbed. Stamp reading "Eliezer Kaplan, Min. of Finance" on front cover in silver lettering. Ink stamp on front white-page dedicates this book to the Israeli Defense Forces. All pages lightly yellowed. [SUMMARY:] This rare Bible, once owned by a key figure in Israeli history, has been preserved in good condition despite some shelf-wear.
