With an American flag motif behind the title hand-colored drawings wonderful pen-and-ink sketches quite a lot of handwritten material and images and articles clipped from unidentified newspapers and magazines. A nice assortment of local news "Miss Dulcia Baker is confined to the house with chicken pox" jokes fake ads and Fourth of July preparations. THE EVENING BLAT: One heavy cardstock leaf folded into 4 pages approx. 11-by-14 inches. This one entirely handwritten and illustrated no clippings with wonderfully executed lettering and drawings. An heartily charming collection clearly made in good fun -- abundant in silliness cleverness and humor. All are nicely laid-out with panels columns ads and artwork replicating the look of an actual newspaper. "Nervous young man would like quiet place without girls for vacation. Call Dean."
