Shumposha Photo Printing Co tri-lingual text with Farsi text Fitzgerald's English translation and E'tessam-Zadeh's French version on each page of illuminated text this is probably one of the prettiest books that I've seen in many years.Khayyam Omar--Shomposha--1976-- A Persian English & French version translated by Edward Fitzgerald--the book is beautifully bound is a hardcover the cover both front and back resemble a beautifully done Pershing rug on a gold background. The first portion of the book has the English version the second portion has the French version the detail in the quality of the plates and illustrations is throughout the book even the inside cover has the most beautiful rug like motif with a sprig of daffodils. It's in great condition and there are a couple of dits in the gold background counted them there's probably 10 of these microscopic little dits.it's very pretty book this is the kind of book. People tended by and cut and frame the pages much like they did with Victorian illustrated plant and flower studies. Known in Iran as a leading mathematician Omar gained literary importance through certain quatrains that were translated by Edward FitzGerald. The Ruba'iyat is justly famous in English translation. Others besides FitzGerald have tried their hand at translating it not all with admired results. Bowens's is a good example of competent and pleasing work. FitzGerald's Rubaiyat has long been one of the most popular English poems.
